Principal

Vinodhan possesses a distinguished academic background, having earned both an LL.B (Hons) and LL.M (Distinction) in Commercial Law from the esteemed University of Malaya. He was admitted to the High Court of Malaya in 2019. Vinodhan is also a member of the Malaysian Bar Civil Law & Law Reform Committee (Defamation Subcommittee).

His professional journey began with a pupillage at Messrs Thomas Philip, where he received mentorship from the Managing Partner. Following this, in July 2019, he embarked on his tenure as a legal associate at Messrs Zainal & Associates, where he independently managed the general litigation division within this boutique legal firm.

 

Notably, Vinodhan ventured into independent practice in January 2020, just four months after his admission to the Bar. He established his law firm, Vinodhan Kuppusamy, Advocates & Solicitors, specializing exclusively in dispute resolution. His primary areas of legal expertise encompass general litigation, Commercial & Corporate Litigation, Debt Recovery & Restructuring, Insolvency, and Bankruptcy.

Vinodhan's courtroom proficiency is evident through his appearances as lead counsel at all levels of the Malaysian Courts. Furthermore, his adeptness extends beyond litigation, as he has achieved considerable success in out-of-court matters, including settlement negotiations and legal advice.

Beyond his legal pursuits, Vinodhan is a prolific writer, actively contributing to his firm's website and various legal blogs, offering insights on intricate legal subjects in a concise bite-size format. Additionally, he generously volunteers his time as a judge and coach in Moot and Debate Competitions at the university level. During weekends, he imparts his expertise by coaching competitive debating to students aged 10 to 24.
